Minimum requirements for the computer:
1. 400 MHz processor
2. 64 MB RAM
3. 20 GB hard drive
4. 32 MB video card
5. CD-R drive
6. 17 inch monitor that could display 1078 x 780 resolution
7. A Firewire card
Rationale for computer minimum specifications:
Disk capacity affects transfer rate. The faster the hard drive absorbs large amounts of data the faster would be the task of uploading videos from the digital camcorder to the computer. Each frame has to be stored. The video capture software reports dropped frames if it is slow. This may create or result to undesirable noticeable gaps during playback. Video card must be up to perform at thirty large frames per second of raw video footage to be able to display all frames. Take note that the video that was uploaded from the digital camcorder was minimally compressed. Firewire is low cost and allow data transfer rate of up to 400 MB per second. It is wise to purchase a Firewire card that is bundled with a software package.
